Goethea in International Botanical Gardens

• New York Botanical Garden (The world monograph on Pavonia was published about ten years ago by Dr. Paul Fryxell. He determined that he could not maintain Goethea as a distinct genus because it had too many characteristics of Pavonia. So all species described as Goethea were transferred to Pavonia. Nevertheless, Goethea is maintained as a subgenus.)*
